WOW! This slide is gorgeous and so very rare!                                                        The fossilized pine cones are from the Patagonia region of Argentina. The cones are from Araucaria trees that are related to present day Norfolk Island Pines and that grew to heights as tall as 300 feet and were fossilized 160 million years ago. Patrick of Murphy Design obtained several half pine cones 20 some years ago at the Tucson Gem Show. Argentina no longer allows the cones to be exported and thus they have become harder to obtain and more expensive.
